Duties of Editors
● Fair play and editorial independence
The editors will determine the submitted manuscript solely based on their academic knowledge ( importance, originality, study’s validity, clarity) and within the limits of the journal’s scope. This procedure will be done regardless of the author's background that includes (race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, citizenship, religious belief, political philosophy or institutional affiliation). Thus, it will be and impartial procedure. The PLR team has the authority of the editorial content and the timing as to when the manuscript has to be published. There is no role of the government or any other agency in deciding as to the editing and publishing of the contents.Hence, there is no interference of any other party
other than PLR member.
● Confidentiality
Confidentiality of the manuscript submitted is of utmost importance in PLR as it helps in bringing out the authenticity in the procedure, as it is a peer-reviewed journal. However, the information of the manuscript can be disclosed to the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors and the publisher as required.
● Disclosure and conflicts of interest
There should not be any misuse of the unpublished manuscript either by the editorial board or editors for their research purpose and if it is to be used then written consent is required from the authors'. Information and ideas will not be used for personal advantage. Editors shall not indulge in any conflict with the author as to the content of the manuscript which has resulted from competitive, collaborative or other relationships or connections with any of the authors' companies and institutions
connected to the papers, in this situation they will inform the PLR Managing Editor or Journal Manager who will re-allocate the manuscript to another editor. Henceforth, the former editor holds no discretion over the particular manuscript.
● Publication decisions
It must be ensured that the manuscript which is considered for publication should be peer-reviewed by an editor who is an expert in the field. The Executive council ( our permanent members body) has to decide as to which of the manuscript submitted will be published keeping in view that how much importance it holds to researches and readers, comments and also that it is not violating law currently in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.
● Involvement and cooperation in investigations
If in the submitted manuscript or published paper a question of ethical concerns are raised then appropriate and immediate measures will be taken by the editors( in concurrence with the publisher and/or society). This criterion will be followed even if a reported act of unethical publishing is disclosed years after publication. PLR editors follow a fair process when dealing with cases of suspected
misconduct and believe in keeping the complainant in the loop regarding the investigation. If on an investigation, the ethical concern is proven, a correction, retraction, expression of concern or another note as may be relevant, will be published on the journal’s website.
